Is my home suitable for a Heat Pump?

This is the most important question we ask homeowners. Air Source heat pumps on average produce a heat that can be converted to pump around our heating & hot water system of 35-55C (depending on the temperature of the air being pulled in from outside). The best system for Air Source Heat Pumps are Wet Underfloor Heating Systems.

• If you live in a super insulated & draught free property then you may be suitable for a Standard Air Source Heat Pump (subject to survey)
• If you live in a semi insulated & semi draught free property then you may be suitable for a Hybrid Air Source Heat Pump (subject to survey)
• If you live in an uninsulated & draughty property then we always recommend fully insulating your home to it’s maximum capability before installing any type of boiler. This will reduce running costs considerably. Most older properties with little insultation & draughts will more than likely be suitable for a high efficiency Gas or Oil Boiler (subject to survey)
  

How do Heat Pumps work?

The technology of a heat pump is very similar to an air conditioning system but instead of producing cool air it produces heat. It only uses electricity to run the components, including a fan, a compressor (which increases the heat) and a circulating pump. If that electricity is from renewable sources, it’s a totally carbon-free way to heat your home and the only by-product of the process is water.

What is a Hybrid Heat Pump?

This system requires both the external 7001i unit & indoor 7000i Hybrid unit. Both units connect onto your existing heating & hot water system. A hybrid system works just like a hybrid car – it combines your existing Gas or Oil boiler with a new lower carbon technology Air Source Heat Pump.

Heat Pump Diagnostics & Repairs

A typical diagnostic takes around 1 hour and we can give a black and white diagnosis of what the problem is, what needs to be done to rectify it, what parts are required, how much it will cost and when we can do it (often the same day). And best of all if we can resolve the issue within the diagnosis time then there will be no additional costings.
