What happens when your boiler breaks down?

Boiler problems can range from a complete loss of heating or hot water to intermittent faults, unusual noises, low pressure and error codes. The cause is not always obvious, which is why a proper diagnosis matters.

Our engineers investigate boiler faults alongside problems with circulation, pumps, motorised valves, thermostats, programmers and other heating controls. A typical boiler diagnosis takes around one hour.

Once we identify the fault, we explain what needs to be done, what it is likely to cost and when the repair can be carried out. If the issue can be resolved within the diagnostic appointment, there is no additional labour charge for that work within the diagnosis time; any parts or further work may cost extra.

What central heating faults can we diagnose?

We investigate faults across domestic boiler and central heating systems, including:

Boiler breakdowns: no heating, no hot water, error codes and intermittent operation.
Circulation problems: cold radiators, faulty pumps and motorised valves.
Heating controls: thermostats, programmers and smart thermostats that are not working correctly.
Other system components: underfloor heating, unvented hot water cylinders, immersion heaters and central heating tanks.

Our vans carry commonly used central heating parts. If specialist components are required, we can order them, with next-day fitting sometimes possible depending on supplier stock and engineer availability.
